The Road Trip Song

It all started one morning, about the year 2005,

3 good friends had a dream, and decided to take a drive,

They want to go and see America and tell them, “Jesus can set you free,”

So they loaded the convertible, the old 1963.

Singing out, thank you Lord for this old Ford, that gets us down the road,

Let us get home safe again so the story can be told.

Now we’re off and running, the motor’s humming it sets the pace,

Never really knowing where we’re going but comes a place,

Another city, another soul, another face,

Another, “Come on hear about God’s amazing grace.”

Singing out, thank you Lord for this old Ford, that gets us down the road,

Let us get home safe again so the story can be told.

Hot springs and fountains, Rocky Mountains turn into the plains,

The leaves are changing, still gators rage in the Everglades,

From coast to coast, all through New England, to the Keys,

Southern mansions, Grand Canyons, and big old trees.

Singing out, thank you Lord for this old Ford, that got us down the road,

You got us all home safe again now the story can be told.
